Pet massage can supplement veterinary care, but is not a substitute for it.
Pet massage is the gentle manipulation of soft tissue and joints to help rebalance the body and aid in helaing and relaxation.
Massage increases blood and lymph circulation. This aids in nutrition to the muscles and joints. The joint manipulations help keep them lubricated which allows freer movement.
Wellness enhancement massage calms and relaxes your pet. You are shown techniques you can use at home to help increase your bond to your pet.
Therapeutic massage is used on pets after injury or surgery to aid healing. It can be used in conjunction with hydrotherapy.
Massage is a slow, relaxing process. There is an initial assessment and then gentle manipulation. Time is adjusted to the tolerance of your pet. The massage should be relaxing and healing, not stressful or detrimental. You may stay with your pet if you wish, but if you do not time will be made to teach you some moves for at home.
Your pet may be more tired or sore and drink more after a massage, this is normal. Massage is comparable to exercise.
Massage will not be done on pets with certain conditions as it may worsen, the veterinarian can talk to you about this if your pet has a problem.
